About the Role
We are currently seeking a casual cleaner to join our dedicated Environmental Services Department. This position does not guarantee hours or days, as it involves covering for sick leave and annual leave. Flexibility is essential, as you will need to be available for public holidays and night shifts.
In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of Ashburton Hospital facilities. You will be part of a small, fast-paced team that provides exceptional cleaning services 365 days a year. The starting salary for this position is $27.80 per hour, based on the E tū Service and Food Workers collective agreement. Notably, we offer time and a half for weekend work and double time for public holidays.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Completing all cleaning tasks to a high standard
- Ensuring daily schedules and task lists are completed within the designated time frames
- Collaborating with other team members to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Matching service requirements to clinical needs
- Maintaining and operating cleaning equipment according to specifications
- Utilizing the correct chemicals and dilutions for cleaning tasks

About You

- Previous cleaning experience, particularly in a healthcare setting, is preferred but not essential. We provide full training for all new staff members.
