We are dedicated to providing high-quality construction solutions and are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Carpenter to join our client's team. Our focus is on delivering exceptional craftsmanship in various commercial projects located in Invercargill.
About the Role
This role is perfect for an individual who possesses a strong work ethic and extensive carpentry experience. The successful candidate will work independently on a range of commercial projects over a duration of 12 to 18 months, with work scheduled from Monday to Friday. The pay rate for this position ranges from $32 to $36 per hour, depending on experience.
What You’ll Do
In this position, you will be responsible for the following:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Assembling structural steel and installing tilt panels
- Performing form work and installing frames, along with finishing work
- Utilizing a variety of tools and materials
- Maintaining site cleanliness and adhering to safety protocols
- Problem-solving on-site, making necessary adjustments, and proposing solutions to overcome challenges during construction
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of four years of proven experience in commercial carpentry
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality standards
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- A proactive approach to tackling unexpected challenges on-site
- Ownership of tools and a valid driver's license is preferred
- Site safety certifications, such as working at heights and EWP ticket, are advantageous but not essential
