About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Integrity Administrator to join our Clinical Records team at Waitaha Canterbury. In this permanent full-time position, working 40 hours per week, you will be responsible for ensuring that all patient information—both electronic and paper-based—complies with the standards set by the Ministry of Health and the Privacy Act 2020.
Your contributions will be vital in helping us meet our internal operational needs, deliver accurate reporting, and fulfill our external accountability obligations. To succeed in this role, you will need strong problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of data quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve inquiries from the Ministry of Health (NHI Identity Team).
- Monitor and process daily Link Notification Reports, checking for newly linked NHI numbers.
- Manage temporary NHI usage, ensuring correct linkage or confirmation as primary numbers.
- Identify, investigate, and process duplicate or contaminated NHI registrations.
- Maintain the accuracy and completeness of clinical records, both electronic and paper-based.
- Ensure consistency across all patient management systems.
- Produce timely and accurate reports on data integrity activities.
- Respond to internal and external queries regarding patient information.
- Provide support for 22F Patient Information requests and Mental Health clerical processing as needed.
- Contribute to departmental improvements by reviewing and refining processes and procedures.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Proven experience in Clinical Records.
- Expert-level skills in patient management systems (PMS).
- Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A demonstrated passion for data quality and accuracy.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational skills with effective prioritization abilities.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of the National Health Index (NHI) and related systems.
- Understanding of the Health Privacy Code.
- Previous experience in health or community health services.
- High-level analytical and influencing skills.
