About the Company
At Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, we are dedicated to advancing healthcare for all New Zealanders. Our commitment is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and we aim to build a health system that serves the diverse needs of our communities. We invite you to join our team where your expertise can make a significant impact on patient care.
About the Role
We are seeking a Consultant Rheumatologist to join our Rheumatology, Immunology and Allergy Department at Christchurch Hospital. In this role, you will primarily focus on outpatient-based services. You will be supported by a dedicated senior team that includes three other senior medical officers, an advanced trainee in rheumatology, a specialist clinical nurse, and a research nurse.
In addition to your outpatient responsibilities, you will also contribute to services for Te Tai o Poutini West Coast by participating in visiting outpatient clinics. Collaboration with other hospital specialties will be essential as you provide consultation advice. The role includes a modest inpatient and day unit component, which allows for strong continuity of care within the outpatient setting.
About the Team / Service / Location
Our department serves a large and diverse population across Waitaha Canterbury and the West Coast. Located at Christchurch Hospital, the largest tertiary centre in the South Island, we provide specialist rheumatology care across multiple settings while maintaining strong connections with other internal medicine services.
