About the Role We are currently seeking Support Workers to join our team in Albany and Massey, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available. This role involves working flexible rostered shifts, including days, evenings, and sleepovers. The pay rate ranges from $23.84 to $29.10 per hour, depending on relevant qualifications. In this position, you will provide forensic rehabilitation services to individuals with high and complex needs who have interacted with the justice system. Our goal is to empower these individuals on their journey towards rehabilitation and reintegration into the community. As a Support Worker, you will engage in various community activities, assisting people in pursuing their interests such as swimming, fishing, playing sports, and visiting family. Your responsibilities will also include monitoring behavior and ensuring safety. While managing challenging behaviors can be demanding, our approach focuses on promoting positive behaviors and creating a supportive environment where individuals can thrive. Requirements We prefer candidates with previous experience, but more importantly, we value life experience and a positive attitude. Key qualifications and skills include: - Previous experience in supporting individuals with high and complex needs is preferred. - Experience in working with challenging behaviors and de-escalation techniques. - Confidence in making decisions and taking action in various situations. - An observant and resilient nature while maintaining safety. - A non-judgmental and open-minded approach when working with diverse individuals. - Proficiency in using computers and tablets for daily tasks. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Physical fitness to provide necessary support and participate in activities. - A Full New Zealand driver's license or the ability to obtain one within six months.
