About the Role We are currently seeking Support Workers for both full-time and part-time positions in Albany and Massey. The shifts will be rostered, and flexibility is required for day, evening, and sleepover shifts. The pay rate ranges from $23.84 to $29.10 per hour, depending on relevant qualifications. In this role, you will be instrumental in empowering individuals on their rehabilitation journey. We provide forensic rehabilitation services to people with high and complex needs who have had contact with the justice system. Your responsibilities will include supporting individuals in pursuing their interests, such as swimming, fishing, playing sports, and visiting family. You will also play a key role in managing risk and ensuring safety while dealing with challenging behaviors. With the right approach, you can promote positive behaviors and create a supportive environment where individuals can thrive. Requirements We are looking for candidates who possess life experience and a positive attitude. It is essential to build strong relationships with the individuals we support and help coach them through their rehabilitation process. Ideal candidates will have: - Previous experience working with challenging behaviors and de-escalating situations. - Preferably experience supporting individuals with high and complex needs. - Cultural competence and an understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. - The ability to work in a diverse environment with an open-minded and non-judgmental approach. - A calm demeanor and confidence in handling challenging behaviors. - Proficiency with computers and tablets for daily tasks. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Physical fitness to assist with physical support needs and participate in activities. - A Full NZ driver's license or eligibility to obtain one within six months.
