About the Role We are currently seeking experienced Carpenters to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on major infrastructure and commercial projects across New Zealand. The positions are full-time and permanent, with a minimum of 30 hours guaranteed each week. Site locations will be determined based on project demand, providing variety in your work environment. Pay conditions range from a minimum of $26.00 per hour to a maximum of $40.00 per hour, and we provide all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools to ensure your safety and efficiency on the job. Key Responsibilities As a Carpenter with us, your responsibilities will include: - Shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saws. - Following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment. - Measuring and marking cutting lines on materials with precision. - Installing structures or fixtures, such as windows, frames, flooring, trim, or hardware. - Verifying the trueness of structures with tools like plumb bobs and levels. - Building or repairing cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures. - Selecting and ordering required materials, including lumber. - Assembling and fastening materials to create frameworks or props. - Removing damaged or defective parts and making necessary repairs or replacements. - Maintaining records and documenting actions, as well as presenting written progress reports. - Inspecting various structures for damage and performing necessary repairs. - Erecting scaffolding or ladders for building tasks above ground level. - Finishing surfaces of woodwork or wallboard using appropriate materials. - Studying drawings and creating forming shutters for concrete work. - Arranging for subcontractors for specialized tasks, such as heating or electrical work. - Covering subfloors with building paper and laying hardwood or other flooring. - Filling cracks or defects in plaster and preparing surfaces for finishing. - Performing minor plumbing, welding, or concrete mixing work. - Completing additional duties as assigned. Requirements We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria: - A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in carpentry, or a relevant qualification is preferred. - Strong time management skills and an excellent work ethic. - A commitment to learning and developing skills within the industry. - A sound knowledge of health and safety procedures. - Reliability and a hardworking attitude. Nationwide Opportunity and Travel While this role is listed in the Northland region, we have openings available across all regions of New Zealand, depending on project requirements. We invite applicants from the following areas: North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington. South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland. Candidates must be willing to travel or relocate as necessary, with relocation costs covered by our company.
