Description
About the Company
Thames Hospital, located on the Coastal North Island of New Zealand, is a modern 50-bed secondary care facility dedicated to providing a comprehensive range of healthcare services. Our hospital is committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and aims to build a health system that serves all New Zealanders effectively. We take pride in our dynamic work environment and our collaborative clinical team, which plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated medical officer to join our 15-bed emergency department, which caters to approximately 18,000 patients annually. Our emergency services are supported by 24/7 laboratory and radiology services, including on-site CT imaging, ensuring that we can provide immediate care to those who need it most.
In this role, you will be part of a diverse team that includes rural specialists, emergency medical officers, and emergency medicine specialists. Together, we assess every patient who presents acutely, ensuring they receive the appropriate treatment—whether that involves on-site care, transfer, or admission to our facility.
You will benefit from a well-structured medical roster that guarantees senior medical officer coverage around the clock. The position involves 10-hour shifts, providing a balance of challenge and collegial support within a collaborative and busy team environment.
About the Team/Service
Our team is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care through genuine collaboration across various disciplines. Nurses, allied health professionals, and clinicians work together with a shared commitment to doing what is best for every patient. This strong sense of teamwork is evident throughout the hospital, as we collectively strive to ensure that patients receive the best care possible across the continuum.
