Consultant Psychiatrist for the Urgent Response Service
Role based at Greenlane Clinical Centre
Permanent, full-time position (1 FTE) from Monday to Friday with rostered on-call duties

About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Urgent Response Service team based at the Greenlane Clinical Centre in Epsom. Our service operates 24/7 and is responsible for providing timely assessments and treatments for individuals in need of psychiatric evaluation within 72 hours. You will be part of a well-established team of dedicated and experienced clinicians.
In this role, you will provide urgent and acute psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatment in collaboration with service users, their families/whānau, and carers, as well as the multidisciplinary team within the Urgent Response Service (URS). The Urgent Response Service is a key component of the Mental Health Community Acute Service. This position also includes medical leadership responsibilities within the URS, working closely with the URS Clinical Coordinator and Community Mental Health Service leadership.
Your work will offer variety as you conduct assessments in various settings, including the Greenlane Clinical Centre, community environments, the police custody suite, and the Emergency Department at the main hospital.
Requirements
Candidates must be vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate or be eligible for one. A postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry is preferred. If you are an overseas specialist, you will need to provide source verification of your qualifications for registration.
