    About the Company Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the largest academic tertiary hospital in New Zealand. About the Role We are currently seeking a dedicated professional to join our Maternal Fetal Medicine Service from February 2, 2026, to January 31, 2027. This service provides a vital regional resource for 40,000 pregnant women and offers Fetal Therapy and Fetal Cardiac Services to New Zealand and some Pacific Islands, impacting around 65,000 pregnancies annually. Our hospital has a strong partnership with the Auckland University Faculty of Health Sciences, playing a significant role in research, undergraduate teaching, and postgraduate training. We are one of only four units in Australasia offering this unique opportunity, which includes: - Active research programs - Participation in the New Zealand Maternal Fetal Medicine Network, established in 2009 with support from the Ministry of Health to enhance MFM services across New Zealand - Accreditation from RANZCOG for Specialist Maternal Fetal Medicine Training, with two available positions - Supervision of research projects undertaken by trainees and leadership in both local and multicentre research initiatives The position will involve a combination of maternal and fetal medicine, delivery suite responsibilities, and on-call commitments. About You To thrive in this role, you should be within one year of achieving vocational registration in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the Medical Council of New Zealand. As a trainee in the New Zealand Integrated Training Programme of RANZCOG, you should have been awarded FRANZCOG within the past two years or be eligible for FRANZCOG within twelve months of your appointment. This role offers you the opportunity to engage in research, undergraduate teaching, and postgraduate training in collaboration with the Auckland University Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences and the Auckland University School of Medicine. You will receive high-quality training towards RANZCOG CMFM in accredited training positions.
