About the Role
We are excited to announce an opening for an Aggregates and Field-Testing Laboratory Technician in the Canterbury Region. This position is based out of our Christchurch Civil Engineering Lab and involves both laboratory testing and fieldwork across a variety of sites in Christchurch and the broader Canterbury and West Coast region.
The standard working hours for this role are Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM (40 hours minimum), though there may be occasional night shifts and weekend work.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Developing test methods and applying appropriate international and local methodologies.
- Conducting testing and reporting on all required materials in compliance with the Fulton Hogan lab IANZ requirements.
- Analyzing results for relevant focus areas and providing insights to internal and external clients.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess the following skills and qualifications:
- A positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn on the job.
- A practical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
- A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an IANZ accredited civil engineering testing laboratory.
- Familiarity with ISO 17025 standards.
- The ability to work effectively in both team settings and independently.
- Excellent time management skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks.
- The ability to perform physically demanding work.
- A relevant qualification in earth science or civil engineering is advantageous but not mandatory.
