About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated professional to provide clinical and staff leadership within our service. In this role, you will work closely with our experienced Operations Manager to address day-to-day operational needs. You will also take on staff leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Operations Manager, managing a team while ensuring the highest standards of care and support for the men in our service.
This position is a hands-on front-line role that involves actively engaging in the care and support of our residents. You will be responsible for addressing conflicts and problem-solving throughout the day, and you will participate in an on-call roster once a month.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- An NZ approved degree-level qualification in Social Work, Addictions, Nursing, Counselling, or a related field.
- Full NZ registration with NZAC, Dapaanz, Nursing Council, SWRB, or an equivalent body.
- A minimum of five years of relevant employment experience in Housing, Corrections, Addictions, Social Work, Health, or a similar field.
- At least one year of experience in a leadership role, guiding a team.
- A passion for and the ability to work effectively in a men's hostel environment, recognizing that the majority of our staff are female.
- Strong crisis management skills, with a focus on achieving safe and respectful outcomes.
- The ability to work within a culturally diverse population.

Candidates for this role should be adaptable, energetic, self-motivated, and fully committed to our mission of "caring for people, transforming lives, and reforming society."
This is a permanent full-time position, with an expectation of 40 hours worked per week. The salary for this role will be based on the Social Work pay equity leadership scale, ranging from $95,000 to $122,000, depending on qualifications and leadership experience.
