We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team at The Salvation Army, where we are committed to making a difference in the lives of clients affected by alcohol and drug misuse. This role involves providing after-hours and weekend support for residential clients, ensuring a safe and efficient environment that enhances their therapeutic journey.

About the Role
In this role, you will provide essential care for residential clients living on-site in our recovery house. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the house environment to ensure it remains a safe and supportive space for clients.
- Administering medication accurately and in accordance with our policies.
- Reporting observations and incidents in both written and verbal formats.
- Performing cleaning and kitchen duties as outlined in task lists.
- Carrying out administrative duties according to task lists.
- Maintaining building security.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate will:
- Uphold the values and mission of The Salvation Army.
- Hold or be working towards a Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate.
- Demonstrate a willingness to work from a bicultural perspective, with an understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi.
- Be capable of working independently while remaining part of a team.
- Have experience in mental health and addiction support roles.
- Be computer literate and well-organized.
- Relate to people with sensitivity, care, and patience, while being tactful and discreet.
- Understand the importance of boundaries and confidentiality.
- Possess good written and oral communication skills, enabling accurate record-keeping and report writing.

This is a casual role, with an hourly rate ranging from $27.80 to $29.60.
