About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and proactive Strategy Manager to join our team in Christchurch (Hornby) on a full-time, fixed-term basis, covering maternity leave through to October 2026. In this influential position, you will collaborate closely with the Executive Team at Yili Oceania to assist in the development and execution of corporate strategic plans that align with headquarters and board directives. Your key focus areas will include sustainable profitability, product mix optimization, and corporate social responsibility.
This role extends beyond traditional planning responsibilities. You will play a vital role in shaping and monitoring our five-year strategic direction while ensuring that short-term business and operational plans are practical, aligned, and achievable. Additionally, you will provide valuable market and customer insights to support budgeting, investment decisions, and project planning, all of which will contribute to the success of New Zealand's leading end-to-end dairy manufacturer.

Responsibilities
- Support the GM CEO Office and Yili Oceania's leadership team in formulating and executing corporate strategic plans, ensuring alignment with headquarters and board directives.
- Assist the executive leadership team in achieving long-term strategic objectives focused on sustainable profitability, product mix optimization, and corporate social responsibility.
- Ensure the delivery of a cohesive and achievable one-year business plan aligned with the annual five-year strategic plan.
- Provide high-value consumer insights to support the strategic planning process, integrated budgeting, effective asset management, and new business cases.
- Enhance organizational strategic execution and operational efficiency through cross-functional collaboration, data analysis, and project management.
- Engage in specific operational and strategic project work as needed.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across the business, collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders to positively influence commercial outcomes.
Skills and Experience
- A tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Strategic Management, Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in strategic planning, management consulting, or corporate strategy.
- Proven experience in a large, multi-site organization within a manufacturing or FMCG environment; experience in the dairy or consumer market is desirable.
- Strong multitasking abilities and experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage competing demands and prioritize effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn and grow.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Demonstrated capabilities in reporting and analysis, with confidence in advising senior leaders.
- Exceptional time management skills and strong attention to detail.
- A proven track record of identifying strategic opportunities and driving improvement.
- Resourceful, adaptable, and able to work independently when necessary.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
