About the Role We are currently seeking a trade-qualified Residential Carpenter for a long-term new build project located in Amberley. This position presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality housing developments with one of the region's most respected construction firms. The role is site-based in Amberley, making it an ideal fit for qualified carpenters residing in Rangiora, Kaiapoi, Pegasus, or other areas in North Canterbury who wish to work close to home. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for all stages of residential construction, including: - Framing and structural timber work - Cladding and external finishing - Interior fix-outs and cabinetry - Final finishing work - Reading and interpreting construction drawings - Collaborating effectively with other trades and site management - Maintaining a tidy and safe work environment - Meeting build timelines while ensuring high-quality standards What We’re Looking For We are looking for a reliable and skilled carpenter who: - Is trade qualified (NZ Certificate in Carpentry or equivalent) - Has extensive experience throughout the residential build process - Can work independently with minimal supervision - Is proactive, efficient, and detail-oriented - Possesses excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to safety You’ll Need to Have To be considered for this position, you must have: - Your own tools and reliable transport - A current Site Safe certification or a willingness to obtain one - A positive attitude and a proven track record of reliability on-site - The ability to pass a drug and alcohol test Benefits We offer competitive compensation and a range of benefits, including: - A pay rate of $32–$34 per hour, paid weekly (options for waged or contractor arrangements) - Consistent work from Monday to Friday, with set hours from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm - The convenience of working in Amberley, close to home for those in Rangiora or Kaiapoi - An ongoing project that provides stability - Support from a responsive and experienced Tradestaff team - All personal protective equipment (PPE) supplied, along with managed site inductions Apply Today If you are a skilled and qualified carpenter residing in North Canterbury and are ready to engage in a long-term project in Amberley, we would love to hear from you.
