About the Role We are currently seeking a skilled Lead Hand Carpenter to take the reins on a long-term commercial project in Christchurch. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for leading a small team and ensuring that high-quality workmanship is maintained throughout the project. If you are experienced in site management, can read blueprints effectively, and have a knack for motivating a crew, we would love to hear from you. Wages for this position range from $32.00 to $36.00 per hour, depending on experience. What You Will Be Doing In this role, you will be responsible for: - Overseeing day-to-day carpentry tasks on site - Reading and interpreting plans to ensure specifications are met - Mentoring and leading a small team of carpenters - Installing framing, formwork, fixings, and other essential carpentry tasks What We Require To be successful in this role, you should have: - Proven experience in commercial carpentry - A strong background in leadership or as a Leading Hand - The ability to read and interpret construction drawings - A reliable, motivated, and safety-focused attitude - A commitment to attendance and a strong work ethic - A valid Site Safe or Construct Safe certification (we can assist with this) - The ability to pass a pre-employment drug test Please note that all applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
