About the Role
We are currently seeking a Radiologist to join our expanding team. Our local health sector is undergoing significant growth, with new public and private imaging facilities being developed. The hospital provides a comprehensive range of surgical, medical, oncology, and radiological services.
In this role, you will contribute to these services through regular multidisciplinary team meetings and your daily work, focusing on delivering high-quality care. You will also be involved in ongoing quality improvement initiatives, the development of new services through innovation, and teaching opportunities. Once settled, there may be options for you to work in the private sector, which we fully support.
About the Team/Service/Location
You will become part of a collaborative team of up to eleven professionals dedicated to providing high-quality care and improving health equity and outcomes for our local population, which includes a significant Māori and Pasifika community. Our team is integrated into a regional training program that currently includes one registrar.
There are numerous opportunities to develop subspecialist interests that align with the department's current services, addressing high levels of unmet need within our community. We maintain strong regional connections with other imaging departments and specialties, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient care.

About You
As a Radiologist, you will need to:
- Be registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) under the vocational scope of practice as an Interventional and Diagnostic Radiologist.
- Be either a Fellow of RANZCR or able to demonstrate equivalence (such as FRCR) or completion of training in a comparable healthcare system that meets MCNZ standards.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with patients in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
