About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our busy team located in the heart of Christchurch. If you have confidence in working with diesel engines and heavy machinery, and you are looking for consistent, ongoing work, this may be the perfect opportunity for you.
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing diesel engines and heavy equipment. Your duties will include performing scheduled maintenance and mechanical inspections, troubleshooting hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems, and maintaining accurate service records and job cards. You will work both in the workshop and on-site as needed, while adhering to safety procedures and contributing to a tidy, safe work environment.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you will need the following qualifications:
- A trade qualification in Heavy Automotive Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Experience with hydraulics and electrical systems
- A Full Class 1 licence (Class 2 is a bonus)
- Site Safe certification is preferred
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test
- Immediate availability

We offer a competitive pay rate ranging from $35 to $40 per hour, with weekly pay that is reliable and on time.
