About the Role
We are currently seeking a Vehicle Testing Officer (WOF/COF) to join our close-knit, professional team in Hornby. In this permanent, full-time position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of vehicles on the road.
Your responsibilities will include conducting Warrant of Fitness (WOF) and Certificate of Fitness (COF) inspections according to AA and NZTA standards. You will produce accurate verbal and written reports on vehicle inspections and provide excellent customer service, offering professional advice while promoting relevant AA services and products that meet customer needs. Additionally, you will contribute to team targets and maintain a safe, tidy, and compliant workspace.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A minimum WOF Certification (COF Certification is a bonus)
- One of the following qualifications (or an NZQA-validated equivalent):
- NZ Trade Certificate or Advanced Trade in Heavy Automotive
- National A-Grade Registration (Heavy Vehicles)
- NZ Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering (Level 4 or higher)
You should have a solid understanding of vehicle systems, including suspension, brakes, safety equipment, and lighting. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer-first attitude are essential. A full NZ Driver Licence (Class 5 preferred) is also required.
