As we prepare for this significant milestone, we are seeking a skilled and passionate Seafood Manager to lead our Seafood Department. This is a unique opportunity to be integral in shaping a store dedicated to becoming the best low-cost supermarket in New Zealand, serving one of the country’s fastest-growing communities with exceptional value and service. About the Role: Seafood Manager In the role of Seafood Manager, you will oversee a department that prioritizes freshness, teamwork, and exceptional customer interactions. Your responsibilities will include managing daily operations with a strong emphasis on food safety, supplier coordination, and team development. You will be tasked with delivering a seafood offering that is trusted, well-presented, and ready for our customers. Key duties will involve managing stock levels, supporting your team, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a smooth operation within the department, fostering a positive work environment. The position will require you to work either a Saturday or Sunday shift, and start dates will be staggered as we approach our October opening. We will confirm specific hours and dates with successful candidates prior to finalizing their roles. Requirements We are looking for a confident leader who can bring structure, accountability, and a strong customer focus to our team. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: - Proven experience in a similar leadership role, preferably within seafood or fresh food retail. - Strong management skills, including staff oversight, inventory control, supplier relations, and adherence to compliance requirements. - A solid understanding of food safety, traceability, and presentation standards. - Excellent organizational skills with an approachable demeanor, maintaining composure under pressure. - The ability to cultivate a team culture based on trust, performance, and excellent service.
