Presbyterian Support Otago (PSO) is a Charitable Trust established in 1906, dedicated to fostering supportive environments for individuals across generations. Our mission is to create together places where people can live, learn, and thrive. We actively advocate for positive change and address injustice, operating a respected network of nine care homes throughout Otago, alongside numerous community-based social support programs.
Taieri Court, situated in the heart of Mosgiel, has been an integral part of the community for over 45 years. We provide rest home level care for 33 residents, and our four-year Ministry of Health certification reflects our commitment to quality systems, processes, and environments for both residents and staff. About the Role
We are currently seeking a Health Care Assistant on a casual basis to join our supportive team at Taieri Court. In this role, you will utilize your practical skills and compassion to assist residents with daily activities, including personal care, mealtime support, and general care duties. Your efforts will contribute to creating a happier and healthier living environment for our residents, and you will find immense satisfaction in making a positive impact on their daily lives.
This is a casual position, and we prefer candidates who are available to work on an as-needed basis for afternoon and night shifts, with some potential for morning shifts.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
- Empathy, compassion, and patience
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Enjoyment of working alongside older individuals
- Physical fitness and strength
- Enthusiasm and a good sense of humor
While experience in an aged care environment is preferred, it is not essential, as we provide comprehensive training to all new team members.
