Ross Home, located in North Dunedin, supports up to 124 residents who require rest home level care. About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team in the Hospital Level Care Unit. In this role, you will utilize your practical skills and compassion to support residents with daily activities, including personal care, mealtime assistance, and general care duties that contribute to their happiness and well-being. While this role can be demanding, the fulfillment derived from helping those in need and working in a supportive environment is truly rewarding.
This is a permanent part-time position, with hours from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on a 4 on, 2 off rotation. Additional hours may be available by mutual agreement.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
- Empathy, compassion, and patience
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Enjoyment in working with older individuals
- Physical fitness and strength
- Enthusiasm and a sense of humor
- Experience in an aged care environment is preferred
- A Level 3 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent is an added advantage
