    About the Company Presbyterian Support Otago (PSO) is a Charitable Trust that has been serving the community since 1906. PSO operates a respected network of eight care homes throughout Otago, in addition to offering various community-based social support programs. Our elder care services are provided under the Enliven banner, where we focus on creating elder-centered communities. We ensure that older individuals experience companionship, meaningful activities, purpose, and enjoyment in their lives. Located in North Dunedin, Ross Home accommodates up to 124 residents who receive rest home level care. About the Role We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team at Ross Home on a fixed-term basis from October 6, 2025, to April 6, 2026. In this role, you will utilize your practical skills and empathy to support residents with daily activities, including personal care, assistance during mealtimes, and general care duties. Your efforts will contribute to a happier and healthier living environment for our residents. While the work can be challenging, the satisfaction derived from making a positive difference in the lives of those we serve is unparalleled. This position requires working 7.5 hours per day, from 0700 to 1500 hours, on a rostered basis of four days on followed by two days off. About You The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: - Empathy, compassion, and patience - Ability to work effectively in a team - Enjoyment in working alongside older individuals - Physical fitness and strength - Enthusiasm and a sense of humor - Experience in an aged care environment is preferred - A Level 3 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or an equivalent qualification will be advantageous What We Offer By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to be part of a well-respected charitable organization.
