About the Role
The Excavator Operator will be responsible for operating excavators safely and effectively, utilizing specific controls and attachments to complete tasks related to pipeline construction. This role requires operating in challenging terrains, during winter conditions, and in proximity to other equipment and power lines.
The operator will work in fast-paced environments, demonstrating caution and awareness of potential hazards to ensure site safety. Communication is key; you will need to interpret both verbal and non-verbal signals from team members and act accordingly.
The position requires performing mechanical inspections and servicing of the equipment, completing logbooks, and maintaining good housekeeping practices. You will also need to identify unusual machine movements and sounds, conduct pre-job hazard analyses, and assess tasks before commencing work.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant experience. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic. A positive attitude and the ability to contribute to a respectful team environment are essential.
We value flexibility and adherence to company policies, including those related to hygiene and time management. While experience with additional heavy equipment on mainlines is advantageous, we are also willing to provide on-the-job training for those eager to learn.

Benefits
We offer guaranteed hours of work, with a minimum of 30 hours per week and the potential for up to 50 hours. Our work schedule requires availability from Monday to Sunday, including after-hours and public holidays.
