About the Role
We invite you to join our dynamic research team as a postdoctoral researcher focused on sustainable viticulture practices. This role will support pioneering research into disease-resistant plant material, which holds significant relevance for the New Zealand wine industry. Based in a well-resourced faculty, you will engage in collaborative research, teaching, and service, making a meaningful impact on the future of viticulture in New Zealand.
Key responsibilities in this role include:
- Conducting collaborative research in viticulture and plant physiology
- Publishing findings in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals
- Supporting undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in related fields
- Analyzing complex data using tools such as Python or R
- Applying for internal or national research funding
- Engaging with industry partners and academic collaborators
This position is a fixed-term role for 24 months, requiring a commitment of 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE) at our Lincoln Campus. The salary for this role is fixed at $75,000 per annum.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A PhD in Plant Physiology, Viticulture, Plant Science, or a related discipline
- A growing publication record in relevant scientific areas
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Competency in data analysis with a focus on maintaining high data integrity standards
- Experience working in diverse and interdisciplinary environments
- A collaborative mindset and a commitment to equity and diversity
