About the Role
We are looking for three experienced Plasterers to join our team. This full-time, permanent position offers a minimum of 30 hours per week, with a work schedule that runs from Monday to Saturday. The pay ranges from $27.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on your skills and experience. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a reputable company where you can enhance your career.
In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- Studying plans and measuring surfaces for plastering while estimating the required plasterboard and plaster mix materials.
- Selecting and preparing appropriate plastering materials for different projects, ensuring availability on site.
- Protecting non-plastering surfaces and priming surfaces for plastering.
- Cutting, positioning, and fixing various types of plasterboard, ceiling systems, tiles, and composite wall linings to walls, ceilings, and battens, ensuring straight corners and angles.
- Applying coats of plaster to walls, ceilings, or partitions using trowels, brushes, and other hand or power tools.
- Applying and finishing acoustic, insulating, and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster and similar substances.
- Creating decorative textures in finishing coats when specified.
- Ensuring internal and external corners and angles are plumb and straight with the use of leveling tools.
- Producing finished surfaces according to blueprints, architect's drawings, or oral instructions.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in the plastering field or a Level 4 qualification in the industry (equivalent overseas qualifications will be considered).
- A strong team player mentality, with the ability to follow instructions effectively.
- Physical fitness and a willingness to work hard.
- A keen eye for detail and practical problem-solving skills.
- A positive, "can-do" attitude.
