About the Role
We are looking for two experienced Plasterers to become integral members of our team. In this full-time position, you will support our commercial operations by providing superior plastering services. Your work will not only meet professional standards but also ensure the safety and satisfaction of our clients.
Key Responsibilities
As a Plasterer, your responsibilities will include:
- Determining plasterboard layouts and installing insulation and vapour barriers.
- Measuring, marking, and cutting plasterboard, as well as lifting and positioning panels to secure them to walls, ceilings, and battens.
- Preparing corner beads and ensuring their proper placement.
- Fixing pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres, and other plaster fittings.
- Covering joins and nail holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds, then smoothing them with wet brushes and sandpaper.
- Mixing and applying coats of plaster, cement, and render to structures using trowels, achieving a uniform thickness.
- Plumbing and straightening corners, angles, and wall and ceiling surfaces.
- Creating decorative textures in finishing coats.
- Applying and finishing acoustic, insulating, and fireproofing materials that are bonded with plaster, plastic cement, and similar materials.
- Installing plasterboard partitions, suspended ceilings, fire rating systems, acoustic tiles, and composite wall linings in buildings.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- A New Zealand Qualifications Framework Level 4 qualification in a relevant field, or at least two years of relevant experience.
- A strong ability to work independently and effectively manage time.
- A proactive and hardworking attitude, with the capability to handle physically demanding tasks.
- A customer-focused, friendly, and professional demeanor.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Working Conditions
