About the Role
We are seeking passionate and skilled Alcohol and Drug Clinicians to join our team at Te Atea Marino. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Ronwood Avenue, Manukau, requiring 80 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday. We welcome individuals from all ethnicities who are committed to making a difference in the lives of those affected by addiction. While proficiency in Te Reo Māori is not required, an understanding of the principles of the Tiriti O Waitangi and Māori health models, such as Whare Tapa Wha, is essential.
In this role, you will be part of a culturally aware team that prioritizes the needs of tangata whai i te ora and their whānau. We are currently undergoing a transformation within our service, and this is an excellent opportunity for you to contribute to meaningful change while receiving support from experienced colleagues.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A relevant qualification in counselling, social work, or mental health.
- A minimum of five years of post-graduate experience in the addiction sector.
- Full registration with DAPAANZ as a competent AOD practitioner or equivalent registration with a professional body.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment formulation, and risk management.
- Proficiency in individual and group therapy, including motivational interviewing or similar counseling techniques.
- An understanding of Māori cultural values and the ability to incorporate these into clinical practice, or a willingness to learn.
- A valid driver's license.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work environments to maintain service delivery standards.
- Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to give and receive feedback constructively.
