About the Role We are currently seeking experienced Steel Fixers for immediate and ongoing deployment throughout New Zealand. These positions are full-time and permanent, with site locations determined by project demand. This role is well-suited for individuals who have a proven track record in structural reinforcement and can interpret detailed drawings. Ideal candidates should be open to relocating or traveling as needed. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting engineering plans and drawings to accurately cut, bend, and place steel bars and mesh. You will tie rebar using the proper techniques for various reinforcement systems and secure the steel within formwork prior to concrete pouring. Additionally, you will need to comply with health, safety, and quality standards on-site while working efficiently within large construction teams under strict deadlines. Skills and Experience Required Candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience in steel fixing or reinforcing steel, either in New Zealand or abroad. The ability to read and work from technical drawings is essential, along with strong physical fitness and attention to detail. Experience on commercial, civil, or infrastructure projects is preferred, and relevant trade experience or qualifications will be considered advantageous. Nationwide Opportunity and Travel While this role is listed in the Manawatu-Whanganui region, we are actively recruiting for positions across all regions of New Zealand, based on project needs. The regions include: North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington. South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.
