About the Role
We are currently seeking energetic and motivated casual Support Workers to join our team in providing support to clients in residential services located in Lower Hutt. In this role, you will work primarily night shifts, with some opportunities for day and afternoon shifts.
As a Support Worker, you will assist rangatahi and tamariki who utilize our services, helping them to live as independently as possible within their community. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with your team to ensure a consistent approach to support
- Assisting tamariki or rangatahi in attending school or accessing educational resources
- Observing and addressing health concerns while promoting overall health and wellbeing
- Supporting young people in working towards their goals and achieving positive outcomes
Requirements
We are looking for individuals who possess:
- A genuine desire to support rangatahi and young people in learning new skills and achieving their goals
- Previous experience working with young people or similar demographics
- An understanding of intellectual disabilities and autism
- Creativity and the ability to think outside the box, along with being a team player
- A full New Zealand driver's license
- Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, as the individuals we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests
