About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support our residents with their daily living and social needs while encouraging them to maintain their independence and make their own decisions. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering personalized care of the highest standard to every resident
- Supporting and encouraging residents to uphold their independence
- Assisting with activities of daily living in alignment with the Eden principles and the Domains of Wellbeing
- Taking direction and completing tasks as assigned by the Registered Nurse
- Ensuring that residents' needs are met effectively and promptly
This position requires a commitment of 20 hours per week. We utilize a fixed roster to help you plan your schedule, but we also welcome flexibility for taking on additional shifts to provide coverage.
About You
We seek individuals who are passionate about the wellbeing of older adults and possess a blend of enthusiasm, patience, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal abilities and a good sense of humor are essential. You will resonate with our values of empathy, compassion, and respect. Additionally, you should have:
- The ability to actively contribute to a team environment
- Clear and confident communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic computer skills for electronic record keeping
- A Level 2 Health and Wellbeing Certificate or higher
- Previous experience in aged care or a healthcare assistant/support worker role is preferred
