We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Haematology Advanced Trainee Registrar position for the 2026 training year at Waikato Hospital. About the Role We are currently inviting applications for the position of Haematology Advanced Trainee Registrar, located at Waikato Hospital in Hamilton, New Zealand. This is a permanent, full-time role. Ideal candidates will have a keen interest in Haematology and must be registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. We are open to considering training under the joint FRACP/FRCPA program or the individual College programs. About the Team/Service Our Haematology Service is an integral part of the Waikato Regional Cancer Centre and the Waikato Hospital Laboratory. We offer a comprehensive range of clinical haematology services, including outpatient care, inpatient ward management, a day stay cytotoxic unit, and outreach services to the wider region. Our Haematology team consists of ten haematologists with joint physician/pathologist training (FRACP/FRCPA) and a skilled nursing practitioner. We invite you to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team. Waikato is the fourth largest region in Aotearoa New Zealand, located just south of Tamaki Makaurau Auckland. The area boasts a variety of world-class outdoor and cultural experiences. From surfing the renowned beaches of Whaingaroa Raglan to hiking majestic mountain ranges and exploring the magical Waitomo glow worm caves, there is something for everyone. Waikato is also home to rich Maori culture and the Kiingitanga, with Waikato Hospital situated on land gifted by Waikato iwi along the banks of the mighty Waikato Awa. Hamilton, New Zealand's largest metropolitan inland city, offers a vibrant city center and a rich cultural mix, making it an ideal place to enjoy the authentic Kiwi lifestyle.
