Description
About the Company
We are a leading civil company dedicated to providing exceptional service and support to our clients. Our commitment to our team is evident in our investment in modern equipment and a work environment that prioritizes the well-being of our employees. We take pride in what we do and are passionate about our contributions to the community.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a Class 5 driver or a highly skilled Class 4 driver looking to advance to Class 5. In this position, you will be responsible for operating our emulsion sprayer for the upcoming sealing season, which involves navigating challenging roads throughout the South Island.
Your daily responsibilities will include driving the emulsion sprayer and managing the movement of equipment and bulk cartage on site. Given that a significant portion of your work will involve reversing the sprayer, confidence and experience in backing trucks are essential.
This role will require travel across the wider Canterbury and Mackenzie regions. There will be occasions when you will be away from home for extended periods, potentially up to three weeks at a time, and there may be instances of night work. Typically, travel will not include weekends. We will cover all accommodation and food costs, and you will receive generous allowances for the duration of your stay away.
Requirements
While experience in the civil sector is preferred, it is not mandatory. The skills required for this role are similar to those in various truck driving positions, and we are open to providing training for the civil-specific elements. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team are essential for achieving successful outcomes.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A full Class 5 New Zealand Driver's Licence with WTR endorsements (If you are a qualified Class 4 driver seeking Class 5 experience, we can support you in obtaining the necessary endorsements.)
- The ability to pass pre-employment checks, including drug and alcohol testing and a criminal history check
- The legal right to work in New Zealand, along with relevant documentation
- A current CV that includes contactable references
Benefits
Joining our team means working for a company that genuinely values its employees and fosters a supportive work environment. You will have the opportunity to explore some of the most beautiful regions in our area while gaining valuable experience in the civil sector. Although this role is temporary, it has the potential to lead to permanent opportunities for the right candidate.
In addition to a competitive hourly rate of up to $32.95, you will receive generous allowances while traveling.
