About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our Environmental Services Department on a fixed-term basis from September 9, 2025, to March 13, 2026. This role requires working 24 hours per week, specifically on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with a 30-minute unpaid meal break.
In this position, you will play a vital role in maintaining our facilities and creating a safe and hygienic environment for our patients and their families (whānau). Your responsibilities will include:
- Completing all cleaning tasks in accordance with international healthcare standards
- Ensuring that daily schedules and tasks are completed within specified timeframes
- Operating and maintaining cleaning equipment safely in the presence of patients and whānau
- Handling cleaning solutions while adhering to safety protocols
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and flexible candidate who is passionate about cleanliness and is eager to contribute to making our hospital a safe and hygienic space for all.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- A high level of patient confidentiality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service and time management abilities
- The capability to work independently and be self-motivated
- A keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience in cleaning, particularly within a healthcare setting, is preferred but not essential
