About the Company Le Dream Cafe Limited is seeking a dedicated and reliable baker to join our team. We operate two locations: Alenna Cafe in Takanini and Cafe Avion in Mangere. While your primary assignment will be at Cafe Avion, you may occasionally be required to cover shifts at Alenna Cafe in Takanini during staff shortages. About the Role In this role, you will work between 30 to 40 hours per week, with a pay rate ranging from $28 to $30 per hour. As a baker, your responsibilities will include: - Ensuring the cleanliness of the food preparation area and baking equipment. - Checking the functionality of ovens and baking equipment. - Assessing the quality of raw materials and accurately measuring ingredients. - Kneading, maturing, cutting, molding, mixing, and shaping dough and pastry goods. - Preparing fillings, sauces, creams, and other necessary components. - Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times. - Removing baked goods from the oven and allowing them to cool. - Glazing buns and pastries, as well as decorating baked goods. - Performing any other related duties as required. Requirements To be considered for this position, candidates should have the following qualifications and attributes: - A relevant qualification (Level 4 or above) and at least one year of relevant work experience, or a minimum of three years of relevant work experience without a qualification. - Availability to start work at 5 AM and willingness to work on weekends and public holidays. - Physical fitness to handle tasks requiring strength, such as heavy lifting and standing for extended periods. - Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. - Strong multitasking and organizational skills. - Reliability and punctuality.
