About the Role
We are looking for resilient, energetic, and conscientious individuals to join our team as experienced support workers. This role involves working closely with Service Users who may require complex care or may exhibit challenging behaviors. We also welcome applicants with a background in mental health.

Job Location: Hawera, New Plymouth, and Whanganui
Responsibilities may include:
- Collaborating with Service Users to assist them in daily tasks
- Providing support with complex personal care needs
- Helping with household management and meal preparation
- Supporting exercise programs
- Facilitating community access
- Assisting with bowel, bladder, and catheter care
- Performing moving and handling tasks, including the use of hoists and manual transfers
- Providing medication support
- Supporting Service Users in achieving their personal goals and contributing to the effective operation of our services
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of Service Users
About You
We are seeking a calm and confident individual who demonstrates resilience and understands the challenges faced by our Service Users. The role of a support worker comes with various responsibilities that can be both challenging and fulfilling. It is immensely rewarding to be part of a team that empowers individuals to live their best lives within the community.
Candidate Pre-Requisites:
- A supportive mindset focused on helping Service Users achieve their goals for independent living
- Previous personal care experience is preferred
- Familiarity with complex medical conditions, such as spinal injuries and traumatic brain injury
- A Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification is beneficial, although those looking to enter the healthcare sector will also be considered, with comprehensive training provided
- Access to your own vehicle and a valid New Zealand driver's license
- Flexibility to work on a rotating roster
- Legal right to work in New Zealand
Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time
We offer a range of employment opportunities, including casual, part-time, and full-time positions, which we will discuss further during the recruitment process.
Days of Work: As this is community-based work, you will be required to work on a rotating roster that includes AM, PM, and weekend shifts. Your preferred working hours can be discussed during the recruitment process, and the duration of hours may vary depending on the specific needs of the individuals we support.
