About the Role
As a Construction Technician, your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks that align with your skills and capabilities. You will be expected to comply with all aspects of contracts, projects, or tasks and deliver customer service that meets or exceeds expectations.
Your primary duties will include:
- Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
- Creating structures, forms, or chutes, and pouring concrete.
- Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture and installing hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip-block floors.
- Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding patches using appropriate tools.
- Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms.
- Performing general labor tasks, including cleaning construction sites as directed by managers.
- Loading and unloading construction materials, tools, and equipment, and transporting them around building sites.
- Completing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Some experience in the construction industry is preferred, but not essential.
- A friendly demeanor, strong time management skills, and an excellent work ethic.
- A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry.
- A sound knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Reliability and a hardworking attitude.
Benefits
We offer a competitive pay rate ranging from a minimum of $25.00 per hour to a maximum of $32.00 per hour. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours of work per week.
Location
The role may require travel to multiple locations throughout New Zealand, including Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
This position is permanent and full-time.
