About the Role We are currently seeking a full-time Residential Administrator for our Youth Justice Residence, Whakatakapokai. Whakatakapokai is one of five Youth Justice Residences operating across Aotearoa, providing residential placements and programs for rangatahi aged 13 to 19 years who have been charged with or convicted of an offense. Our mission is to create a culturally focused, therapeutic, safe, and restorative environment that empowers rangatahi to reconnect with their whānau, hapū, iwi, and culture. We aim to equip them with the skills necessary to make positive decisions that will support their growth and reduce the risk of reoffending. In this dynamic role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team, providing a comprehensive range of administrative services. Your work will support and enhance the operations of the Youth Justice Residence, where no two days are the same. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: - A minimum of three years of experience in office administration or customer service, and/or experience in supporting payroll functions - Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite - Strong relationship-building skills with experience in engaging with the public - Well-developed written and verbal communication skills - Effective organization, planning, and time management abilities - A collaborative spirit and the ability to work well within a team, along with a sense of humor - Skills in managing competing priorities and adapting to changes in the workplace - A clean, current full driver’s license Benefits At Oranga Tamariki, we offer a competitive remuneration package that includes annual progression based on experience and tenure. The starting salary for this position ranges from $57,096 to $62,773, depending on experience.
