About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Orthoptist to join our Ophthalmology team at Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau in Auckland. This is a full-time position on a one-year fixed-term basis, with a salary in line with the PSA Allied Health MECA. As part of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality orthoptic assessments and management to both adult and pediatric patients across our diverse community.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will provide expert orthoptic assessments and tailored care for patients. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, Nurses, and Technicians. You will also have the opportunity to lead and manage orthoptist-led clinics independently, support clinical education, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, your work will extend to delivering regional services across Counties Manukau, Greenlane Clinical Centre, and Waitemata sites.
What You Bring
We are seeking candidates with a recognized Orthoptics qualification (IOA or associate member country) and registration with the NZ Orthoptics Society (NZOSI). You should have a minimum of two years of post-registration experience, along with strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills. A commitment to cultural safety, patient rights, and service excellence is essential as well.
