About the Role We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our team at Diocesan School for Girls in Auckland. In this permanent full-time position, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals. You will ensure that food safety, hygiene, and customer satisfaction are always prioritized. Your responsibilities will include: - Preparing, cooking, and presenting meals to a high standard, including portioning and plating. - Maintaining kitchen hygiene and food safety, which includes cleaning and effective waste management. - Receiving, storing, and rotating kitchen supplies to ensure freshness and minimize waste. - Developing menus that cater to diverse dietary and cultural needs. - Supporting and coaching kitchen staff, contributing to a positive and productive team environment. About You To be successful in this role, you should have: - An NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery (or an equivalent qualification) along with experience in a similar role. - The ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a positive, professional attitude. - A collaborative spirit as a team player, with the ability to work independently when necessary. - Physical fitness, reliability, and a commitment to high hygiene standards. - Excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
