About the Role
We are currently seeking an Administration Officer to support our team in Tauranga Community Corrections. In this full-time, permanent position, you will work Monday to Friday in a friendly and supportive environment. As an Administration Officer, you will play a crucial role in the efficient and effective operation of our office, providing essential administration services that support our work with individuals serving community sentences.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing reception duties such as answering phones, taking messages, greeting visitors, and coordinating meetings, along with general administration tasks.
- Liaising with external organizations and services that we partner with.
- Preparing court documents and managing filing.
- Purchasing materials and handling stocktaking.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring that correspondence, reports, and other documentation adhere to departmental timelines and standards.
- Supporting the leadership team with various administrative tasks.
- Contributing to site health and safety initiatives.
You will have the opportunity to interact with vulnerable individuals from the community when they arrive at our office, so comfort in a people-facing role is essential.
About You
We are looking for candidates who have a genuine interest in our mission and are motivated to support others in a team setting. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Strong background in office administration.
- Proficiency in computer software and database systems, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel), with a capacity to learn new systems quickly.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities, adaptability, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Experience in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with a diverse range of individuals.
- Resilience in navigating challenging situations within dynamic environments, along with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Alignment with our departmental values that shape our work practices.
- While not essential, previous experience in the Government sector or a similar environment involving legislation and policies is desirable.
- A Full New Zealand Driver Licence is required for this role.

Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from $58,367 to $62,084 per annum. The final appointment and remuneration will reflect the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
