About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced administrator to join our Tauranga Maternity Unit on a fixed-term, full-time basis until the end of December 2025. This role primarily involves providing afternoon and night shift coverage, with shifts varying from 6 AM to 3 PM, 2:30 PM to 11 PM, and 11 PM to 6:30 AM.
As a reception-based administrator in the Tauranga Hospital Maternity Unit, you will play a vital role in delivering front-of-house administrative support to our hapu patients and their whanau. This position requires individuals with strong attention to detail, initiative, and excellent organizational and communication skills. You will be working closely with both patients and clinical staff, so the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of individuals is essential.
About the Team/Service/Location
Our team operates on a rotating 24/7 roster, providing support to all clinical and non-clinical staff as well as patients within the service. Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty, serves a population of approximately 308,000 across major areas such as Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatane, Kawerau, and Opotiki.

The ideal candidate will possess:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Strong computer and technology proficiency
- Exceptional time management abilities and a high level of attention to detail
- Familiarity with patient information systems and medical terminology
