About the Company
At Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, we are committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders, firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Our focus is on ensuring excellent healthcare, and we pride ourselves on fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve. With over 4,500 staff members, we are one of the largest employers in the Bay of Plenty region, which includes two hospitals located in Tauranga and Whakatane.
About the Role
We are excited to invite applications for a permanent full-time position in our newly established Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at Tauranga Hospital. This role involves working 80 hours per fortnight and is ideal for individuals who possess a high level of customer service, attention to detail, and strong administrative skills.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to learn industry-specific computer programs quickly, be highly organized, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Importantly, we are looking for someone who can articulate their commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and its impact on their daily practice.
About the Team/Service/Location
The CCU is a dynamic and busy acute inpatient unit that includes a diverse clinical team of Medical, Nursing, and Allied Health professionals. We provide acute coronary and medical care for up to 20 patients, operating from a newly built ward on the third floor of Tauranga Hospital.
Tauranga is situated in the stunning Bay of Plenty, known for its golden sand beaches, lush mountains, and favorable climate. This region is increasingly popular among holidaymakers, retirees, and those seeking a lifestyle outside the hustle of major cities. Our service area covers a population of approximately 308,000, including the major centers of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatane, Kawerau, and Opotiki.
About You
We are looking for candidates who possess an engaging and friendly demeanor, as you will be the first point of contact in the CCU. Accuracy and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team are essential.
Key qualifications include:
- A customer service philosophy combined with a quality focus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, showing empathy and support for individuals during challenging times
- Well-developed administrative and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure
- Strong time management skills and the capability to manage tasks efficiently
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills with a proven ability to learn new tasks quickly
- A proactive, energetic, and adaptable mindset
If you believe you have the skills and experience we are looking for, we encourage you to apply.
