About the Role
We are currently offering a part-time position working from Tuesday to Thursday, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, totaling 24 hours per week. In this role, you will support up to six guests in our double-staffed respite service, providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals seeking respite during a personal crisis.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting tāngata whai ora in regaining their mental health and independence.
- Providing safe medication support.
- Maintaining housekeeping to a high standard.
- Taking comprehensive notes and facilitating handovers.
- Cooking nutritious and appealing meals.
- Advocating for and empowering the individuals we support.
Requirements
We are looking for compassionate individuals who utilize recovery- and trauma-informed approaches to assist tāngata whai ora in achieving and sustaining their well-being.
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognized equivalent, or be actively working towards it.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Possess a current full driver's license.
- Hold a current first aid certificate, or be willing to obtain one.
