About the Role
In this role, we support up to six guests in our double-staffed respite service, creating a safe and nurturing environment for individuals who need a break during personal crises. Our team engages with guests, providing practical support, connection, and advocacy throughout their stay.
Your responsibilities in the respite service may include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting tāngata whai ora in regaining their mental health and independence.
- Providing safe medication support.
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping.
- Conducting comprehensive note-taking and handovers.
- Preparing nutritious and appealing meals.
- Advocating for and empowering the people we support.
We currently have two full-time permanent positions available:
Role 1: Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM (40 hours per week)
Role 2: Friday to Monday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (32 hours per week)

Requirements
We are looking for individuals with a caring nature who utilize recovery- and trauma-informed approaches to actively support tāngata whai ora in achieving and maintaining their well-being.
To be considered, applicants must:
- Hold the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognized equivalent, or be currently working towards it.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Possess a current full driver's license.
- Hold a current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one.
