About the Role
We are currently looking for casual Support Workers to provide coverage for permanent staff during their leave. This role offers a diverse range of experiences across our Wellington-based services, which include community mobile support, respite care, residential services, and recovery initiatives. By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to broaden your skill set and make a meaningful impact.
In this varied role, your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting guests in our respite service with medication, providing a listening ear, assisting with activities, and maintaining a welcoming home environment through cooking, cleaning, and hosting visiting clinical teams.
- Working alongside individuals in our residential services to assist with tasks such as attending appointments, shopping, cleaning, and medication management.
- Offering home-based support in our community services by helping individuals with household tasks, grocery shopping, attending appointments, and engaging in exercise from home.
Please note that the hours of work are irregular and will be offered based on availability, as our services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Team
As part of the Pathways Wellington team, you will report to the Team Coach. Together, we share a common purpose: to support individuals experiencing mental illness.
You
We are looking for candidates who possess a caring nature and the ability to adopt a person-centered approach when working with clients. A recovery-focused mindset and exceptional attention to detail are essential. Additionally, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- A current full driver’s license
- A current first aid certificate or a willingness to obtain one
- Flexibility and availability for varying shifts
- A Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognized equivalent. Alternatively, you may be currently studying towards this qualification.
