About the Role
We are currently seeking a full-time Clinical Cardiac Physiologist Team Lead to join our Cardiology and Respiratory Department at Taranaki Base and Hawera Hospital. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for developing services and managing the workforce. This includes providing education, supervision, and mentorship to trainees, new graduates, and existing staff to enhance their skills in new techniques and pacing.
Collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Manager will be essential to develop a quality assurance framework, oversee equipment maintenance, and assist with the technical aspects of the role. You will also work with the Cardiac Sonography Professional Lead in workforce development. It is important to note that up to 0.2 FTE will be allocated to non-clinical tasks.
The department offers a range of services, including:
- Pacemaker follow-up (ICD/CRT/Brady)
- ILR implantation and follow-up
- Diagnostic Coronary Angiography
- Ambulatory Cardiac Monitoring
- Exercise Treadmill Testing
- Lung Function Testing (assistance may be required, though this is not a core responsibility)
Requirements
To be successful in this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Membership with the Society of Cardiopulmonary Technology NZ (SCT) is required.
- Ideally, you should be in the process of attaining an Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) with the Clinical Physiologists Registration Board (CPRB).
- Accreditation with IBHRE/HR UK is preferred.
- Proven management and leadership skills and experience are essential.
