Description
About the Company
At MindFull Support, we are a kaupapa-driven organization focused on providing meaningful care and support to rangatahi. Our mission goes beyond traditional support roles; we aim to transform the existing system and create a positive impact in the lives of those we serve. We prioritize relationships, cultural values, and the well-being of both our staff and the young people we support.
About the Role
In this role, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team that values your contributions and experiences. We believe that a supportive work environment is essential for effective care. Here, you will have the autonomy to lead your day, make decisions on the ground, and work within a framework that prioritizes cultural and emotional well-being.
We offer a supportive atmosphere that includes clinical and cultural supervision, regular check-ins, debriefs, and team meetings. Your voice will be valued; if you identify challenges, you will be involved in finding solutions. Our shift structure, which consists of 24 to 72-hour shifts, allows for 4 to 6 days off per week, providing you the opportunity to recharge and reconnect.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Experience in supporting rangatahi, particularly in youth mental health, disability, or care settings.
- A trauma-informed approach to your work that encompasses both knowledge and practice.
- The ability to maintain boundaries while approaching situations with empathy and understanding.
- Cultural awareness and respect for te ao Māori and Pasifika worldviews.
- Calmness in crisis situations, self-reflection during downtime, and the ability to thrive in a cohesive team environment.
- A willingness to grow, speak up, and actively participate in a transformative movement rather than a conventional machine.
Additionally, you will need:
- A Level 3 or 4+ qualification in youth, health, or community work.
- A full New Zealand driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (with current WOF and registration).
- The legal right to work in Aotearoa.
- Availability for 24 to 72-hour shifts, including some weekends.
- Residency in Hamilton or the surrounding areas, including Huntly, Te Awamutu, Cambridge, Morrinsville, and Ngaruawahia.
