About the Role
We are excited to offer a leadership opportunity within our Acute Medical Assessment Unit at Christchurch Hospital. We are seeking a senior nurse to take on the role of Charge Nurse Manager. In this position, you will oversee the daily operations of the unit, collaborating closely with Nursing and Service Leadership and other Team Leaders.

Your ability to work under the guidance of the Medical Nursing Director will be crucial for achieving financial and operational objectives aligned with our vision.
About the Service
The Acute Medical Assessment Unit is a fast-paced environment with 40 beds, where we care for a diverse range of acutely unwell medical patients. Patients are admitted from the Emergency Department and directly from the community for assessment and treatment. We aim to facilitate early supported discharges for patients anticipated to have a short length of stay, resulting in frequent admissions and transfers to other wards each day.
About You
In the Charge Nurse Manager role, you will engage in both clinical and operational functions. We are looking for a dynamic, confident, and competent Senior Registered Nurse who can support and enable the provision of quality nursing care for our patients and their families.
You should possess proven leadership abilities, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the capacity to remain calm under pressure. While medical nursing experience is beneficial, your ability to effectively lead and manage your team is of primary importance.
