    About the Company We are an independent, charitable organization dedicated to helping our clients achieve independence, inclusion, and an improved quality of life after experiencing a brain injury. Our approach involves a comprehensive continuum of assessment, rehabilitation, and support services that are provided when and where they are needed. Our skilled interdisciplinary team collaborates with clients and their families to develop tailored strategies that empower them to navigate new pathways in life. About the Role We are currently seeking a Rehab Coach for a permanent position that includes 72 hours of work per fortnight. This exciting opportunity involves working closely with clients to support their journey towards achieving their personal goals and maintaining independence in daily activities. As a Rehab Coach, you will assist clients in engaging in age-appropriate community activities. A typical day as a Rehab Coach can vary significantly and may involve activities such as: - Assisting clients with gym or pool programs - Helping clients prepare meals for the week and manage their grocery budgets - Identifying local volunteering opportunities or groups - Facilitating participation in our in-house Reconnect Groups - Guiding clients in cooking meals for themselves and their families - Exploring new activities aligned with clients' interests in the community - Supporting clients in establishing daily routines and using tools like planners and schedules - Teaching clients new skills Our Rehab Coaches work both one-on-one with clients in the community and in group settings alongside other coaches. You will collaborate closely with clients, their families, and other team members, including Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Occupational Therapists. Our team operates from Monday to Friday during business hours, ensuring no shift or weekend work is required. Requirements To be considered for this role, you should have: - A qualification in NZQA Level 4 in Brain Injury, Level 4 Health and Wellbeing, or an equivalent qualification - A full, valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a van - Experience working with individuals who have experienced Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) or as a Support Worker - The ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal - Proficiency in computer skills - Experience working with a diverse range of clients, including those with challenging behaviors, physical conditions, and complex social backgrounds - A commitment to maximizing client independence while encouraging choice and active participation in activities - Effective time management skills Previous experience in a rehabilitation setting is an advantage. Benefits We offer a competitive remuneration package ranging from $24.08 to $32.92 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
